FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

If we’ve answered the same question twice, it’s probably here. If not, WhatsApp us.

Ordering & delivery

Which areas in Goa do you deliver to?

Panjim, Mapusa, Saligao, Pilerne, Candolim, Parra, Assagao, Aldona, Margao and Vasco, plus most places between, on weekly routes.

Do you ship outside Goa?

Yes: seeds, gift sets and dry goods ship anywhere in India in about a week. Free over ₹999. Live plants, big pots and bulk soil stay Goa-only.

What’s the delivery fee?

Flat ₹100 within Goa. Pan-India is calculated at checkout (free over ₹999).

Can I collect from your Socorro store?

Of course. Come say hi and walk the garden while you’re here.

Workshops

How do I book a workshop?

Pick a session on the Workshops page and book a seat. Online sessions include a posted seed kit.

Beginner vs intermediate?

Beginner is for anyone who’s never grown anything (or tried and gave up). Intermediate is for those who’ve done a season or two and want to go deeper.

Are kids welcome?

Very. Six-year-olds who grow their own brinjal tend to start eating it.

Corporate & group workshops

How do I book a session for my team?

Tell us about your group on the Corporate page and we’ll come back with a proposal within a few working days.

Do you travel outside Goa?

Yes for in-person; otherwise we run live webinars with couriered seed kits.

Garden design & coaching

How long does a typical setup take?

Setup is usually a day; coaching runs across your first full season.

What does it cost?

We quote after a free site visit (within Goa), as every garden is different. A clear breakdown lands within a week.

What if I already have a gardener?

Great: we’ll design the plan and train them to run it.

Products & growing

Are your seeds organic?

Open-pollinated, untreated and non-GMO, sourced organically from farmers we trust.

What does “open-pollinated” mean?

Seeds you can save and re-sow next year and still get the same plant, unlike hybrids. Independence, not dependence.

Which pot size for tomatoes?

A 10-inch pot holds one tomato or chilli; 18-inch fits brinjal, climbing beans, or two tomatoes.

About us

Where are you based?

House No. 994, Ambirna Wado, Socorro, Bardez, Porvorim, Goa 403501.

How long have you been around?

Since 2009 for the store; teaching since 2011.

Is NewFarmer.in the same as Green Essentials?

No: NewFarmer.in is Yogita’s separate field-scale organic-farming venture. Green Essentials is household kitchen gardening.

No question is too basic. Everyone’s first garden starts with “wait, how much do I water this?”
